R-DNA
Tension/Release is a bi-weekly, two-hour show on Newtown Radio that treats genre-fluid, techno-rooted underground electronic music as motion-based therapy. Each episode traces an emotional arc from slow build to full-body release, weaving hypnotic, tribal, percussive and groovy techno with electro, trance, ambient and experimental cuts. Hosted by R-DNA, the show centers emerging queer and FLINTA* artists from NYC and beyond, using narrative-driven mixes to explore identity, memory and emotion, and to create shared moments of connection and release.
